On April 3, 2005 or beautiful shop and cafe burnt to the ground. We would like to dedicate this page to the remembrance of that store. We have also provided you with Darlene Bastian's thoughts on Lady of the Lake, 1608 Park Avenue. We felt she summed up many of our customers' sentiments. It was a special place for everyone.

"Everything is beautiful!

I would like to tell you of one of my experiences at the most incredible shop, Lady of the Lake... as I walk in with my friends, there was always a calming, welcoming atmosphere that we all seemed to crave to feel now and again... the warmth and beauty of your store took our thoughts and imaginations away to a place we have always dreamt of being... the burning candles with the aromas of homemade goodies filled the air creating a relaxing, feel-good place to be. The cafe was "our place" to meet for lunch...

Mmmmmm... I can still taste one of your specialties... Hungarian Mushroom Soup with a thick slice of homemade multi-grain bread... we called it your famous "birdseed bread"!! So delicious...

We miss your store / cafe and of course your staff very much... and to hear that you will be opening another shop / cafe elates us all!!
