Bridget's Babble...

Shopping is good in Sayulita but can't hold a candle to Lady of the Lake!

Hey there folks,

Miss me yet? I miss you...how are you? The winter is slipping along, on to February... and the month of LOVE. Let's hear it for LOVE...LOVE....LOVE...LOVE.

Mexico is lovely but life can get in the way no matter where you are eh? Had a touch of the grog... seems that when one person gets sick down here, it is epidemic... interesting how it can spread... the water? the air? I think we are on the mend now. It is always good to put our health in perspective and appreciate the good days.

Last night Miranda (middle daughter) and her sister-in-law Cindy and I went for a walk into town and did some shopping. There are some great shops here... a little artsy store called Revolution Del Sueno... very urban, minimal product but makes you want to buy. One of my favourites is the Buddha store... imported clothing and jewellery from Thailand and Indonesia... very funky. I will have to take Vicki (dancer friend from Brandon) down for a tour. They had some lovely belts that would look good on our costumes. And then all the usual Mexican shops and a million vendors on the beach... feel sorry for them some days. Tourism is down here so it is a tough sell.

But, I must admit that Lady of the Lake still outshines all of them for service, selection and display... this may sound a little arrogant but because Christine and Cory do most of the buying and displaying now I can honestly not take credit for the way it looks and so I can honestly say it is the best gift-shop I have ever been to in all my travels. Christine and Cory are at the Toronto Gift Show as we speak. They are already planning next Christmas for you... if you have any requests for product for your home or something you have seen just reply to this email and I am sure they will see what they can do for you.

So Cory, what are the new trends and colours in the big city of Toronto?

Hi Bridget...

Yes we are in the big city shopping up a storm... We just came back from the accessories show with several shopping bags of great jewellery, scarves and shiny rings... Christine has already picked out a new one for herself...

For the upcoming season we are seeing two different looks... both on opposite ends of the scale. The first is a lot of natural, subdued nature inspired colors that create a calming effect when used in your home. While the second is bright, cheerful and is sure to put a smile on anyone’s face. It sure put us in a good mood.

Here is just a taste of what is in-store for summer 2012; a retro 50’s kitchen with a slice of cheery pie, a tall glass of lemonade for those hot summer days, and a stroll through the lavender garden. Are you excited yet? Summer looks unveiled May 1 st, mark your calendars.

Can’t wait to see you next week when we will return with all of our treasures.

See you soon, Cory & Christine
